The MOMS Club offers a variety of activities to choose from. Your input as a new member regarding potential activities or programs is encouraged.
Playgroups
Multiple playgroups are available and are typically divided by age (infants, toddlers, preschoolers) or the best scheduled day for the mom. Members can join a playgroup at any time and can try multiple playgroups until they find the right fit. Playgroup members typically take turns hosting each week in their homes or at an alternate location such as a park or mall play area; however, hosting is not required.
MOMS Night Out
MOMS Night Out is a great way to get to know other moms in a fun, relaxed setting. The type of activity varies each month; some examples include dining out, going to the movies, and game night. MOMS Night Out is typically an event just for mom and most members do not take their children; however children are welcome at all MOMS Club activities. All other club activities are held during the day, when moms need the most support.
Monthly Meeting / Speakers
Monthly business meetings are held to handle the "official" business of our club. This is where moms get information on upcoming events, meet new members, discuss budget issues, and volunteer for committees. Occasionally, outside speakers present on various topics that are of interest to moms.
Field Trips / Tours
Moms and kids meet for field trips at the zoo, children’s museum, restaurant tours and other educational centers in the area. It’s a great way to teach your child(ren) about how the world works in a fun environment.
Activity Groups for Moms
Many moms share similar interests such as cooking, movies, reading, scrapbooking, exercise, and more. Members are encouraged to start and join interest groups which form lasting friendships while enjoying their favorite hobbies.
Service Projects for Needy Children
Each year, our club commits to at least one service project that benefits children in our community. Several projects are planned this year including collecting new and used pajamas and sunscreen for children at the Open Door Mission and providing school supplies for children in the Elkhorn area.
The Sunshine Committee
The Sunshine Committee delivers meals to member moms who have recently delivered a child or those who have experienced a stressful event such as surgery, family illness, etc. Members can request assistance with meal preparation, babysitting, or anything else other moms might be able to provide by contacting the Sunshine Committee chairperson.
Leadership Positions
Many leadership positions are available within the organization. Officers hold positions from Jul 1—Jun 30. They include:
